Popular events such as the Duck Race, Halloween and Christmas Festival, plus regular fixtures such as the market could be supported by the BID. New events could be introduced into the town calendar.

The BID will help the town have clean and attractive streets, making sure Leatherhead is clean and attractive to shoppers, visitors, workers and residents. Additional services such as litter picking, graffiti removal and seasonal planting could be funded by the BID. These would all have to be in addition to what is already funded by MVDC.

The BID will improve the safety and security of the town centre, for both the businesses trading here but also for shoppers, visitors, workers and residents. Innovative crime prevention schemes such as DISC and additional CCTV monitoring could be funded.

The BID can enhance the Leatherhead 'experience' to all its users, whether shoppers, visitors, workers or residents through a funded programme of initiatives and projects. The BID budget would allow a number of new innovative projects to be funded that would help compete with online retailers focussing on a real 'Leatherhead experience'.

The BID could support businesses by identifying and funding initiatives that would support the viability and success of businesses based in and trading in the town centre. Economies of scale with services such as waste collection and utilities could help reduce business costs. Bespoke training & development opportunities could be funded.
