We are proud to represent over 230 local businesses, working together to make Leatherhead a better place to live, work and visit. Through investment, partnership and collaboration, we're delivering projects that enhance the town, support local businesses and encourage more people to spend time in Leatherhead.
BIDs must deliver services and initiatives as outlined in the agreed priorities published in their business plan / formal proposal document. Leatherhead BID activity is underway and includes events, marketing, business support, improvements to the town centre, safety & security measures.

The BID will actively market Leatherhead and raise its profile as a vibrant town centre. It will plan, fund and deliver events, promotions and campaigns that attract footfall, support local businesses and showcase the town’s strengths. Much-loved traditions such as the Duck Race, Halloween activities and the Christmas Festival can be enhanced, while regular fixtures like the town market will be supported and better promoted. The BID will also explore introducing fresh events and initiatives to build a year-round calendar that keeps Leatherhead lively and competitive.

The BID will make Leatherhead’s streets cleaner, greener and more attractive, creating a town centre that shoppers, visitors, employees and residents enjoy and want to return to. It will fund visible, above-and-beyond services such as targeted litter picking, rapid graffiti and gum removal, and seasonal planting to add colour and pride to key gateways. All BID-funded works will be over and above the services already provided by Mole Valley District Council, ensuring businesses see a clear uplift in standards.

The BID will make Leatherhead town centre safer and more welcoming, not only for the businesses that trade here, but also for the shoppers, visitors, employees and residents who use it every day. By working closely with the Police and local enforcement teams, the BID can introduce practical crime-prevention measures such as the DISC intelligence-sharing system, explore options for enhanced CCTV coverage, and support rapid-response initiatives that deter anti-social behaviour and retail crime.

The BID will enhance the Leatherhead experience, making the town a more enjoyable and competitive destination for shoppers, visitors, employees and residents. By funding new projects, from better wayfinding and accessibility to digital tools and initiatives that boost dwell time, the BID will deliver a distinctive ‘Leatherhead experience’ that supports footfall, spend and business growth.

The BID will support businesses by funding practical initiatives that strengthen their viability and success in the town centre. Collective schemes such as waste collection and utilities can deliver economies of scale and reduce costs, while bespoke training and development opportunities will help businesses improve skills and competitiveness. By working together, the BID can give town businesses the tools and savings they need to thrive.

The BID will give Leatherhead a strong, business-led voice to influence key decision-makers and statutory bodies. With local government now undergoing major reorganisation, it is more important than ever that Leatherhead speaks with one clear and cohesive voice. The BID will ensure the town is not overlooked, but instead will secure the recognition and fair share of investment and resources it deserves.
