Learn more about BIDs and the proposed BID for Leatherhead
Welcome to the Leatherhead Business Improvement District (BID) website, we will be updating it regularly to keep eligible businesses within the proposed BID area up to date. So please check in regularly and make sure you have completed the survey, confirmed your contact details and signed up for regular updates.
A BID is an independent, business-led, not for profit organisation providing additional services and improvements in a defined area of a town.
Businesses within the defined area that are eligible (shown opposite) pay a small levy proportionate to their rateable value to fund BID activities.
BIDs must deliver services and initiatives as outlined in the agreed priorities published in their business plan / formal proposal document.
A BID operates for a maximum of a 5-year period before having to go to a re-ballot when businesses decide whether to continue with another BID.
BIDs are independent from Local Authorities and are run by a business-led board of directors, selected from the business sectors represented in the town.
There are over 330 active BIDs operating in the UK, with nearly 90% deciding to renew their local BID after their first 5-year BID period.
Fill out our Business Survey now! It will take less than 5-minutes and will ensure we know what are your priorities for the BID and we have your correct details to keep you informed.
